show Abstracthide AbstractIn our previous study, the transcription level of CpMTA1, a gene encoding a homolog of human METTL4, was found to be downregulated in the hypovirus-infected C. parasitica strain EP155/CHV1-EP713. To understand the biological role of the CpMTA1 protein in the chestnut blight fungus, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of CpMTA1 through the creation of CpMTA1 deletion mutants and overexpression strains. Furthermore, the target genes mediated by CpMTA1 were screened by the conjoint analysis of m6A-seq and RNA-seq results.
